I first saw you comic somewhere in the middle and stashed it away like it was an artifact. When I finally got around to reading it from the beginning I was mesmerized. I felt that the characters were wrenched from me prematurely and I will miss this gruesome, dreary and, ultimately, hopeful and inspiring tale. The simple cartoonish nature of the artwork didn’t just transcend itself, but, in the manner of Tezuka’s Buddha, Crumb and some of Herge, use that to portray so much more.
